Great to meet you!

Hi! I’m Hudia. I’m a licensed clinical social worker, daughter of immigrants, middle child (if you know, you know) and someone who deeply understands what it means to live between worlds.

As a first-generation Afghan American, my work is rooted in honoring both where we come from and who we’re becoming. I understand the complexities of learning to identify your own needs, finding your voice, navigating your own path, and trusting your intuition- while still maintaining meaningful connections to your family, culture, and/or religion. It can feel like an impossible balance to hold, but within a safe space to explore your inner world- and with support that honors the depth of your lived experience- change is possible.

I support women in reconnecting with themselves, setting boundaries with care, and building lives that feel authentic, grounded and rooted. I am especially passionate about supporting women navigating grief, anxiety, relationship challenges, healing from abusive relationships, neurodivergence, and life transitions.

Therapy can be a space where you don’t have to perform, explain everything, or have it all figured out. I believe healing begins in a space where you feel safe enough to be real. My role is to walk alongside you as you make sense of your experiences, reconnect with your voice, and build a life that feels more like your own.

I received both my undergraduate degree and MSW from Cal State San Marcos (go Cougars) and my journey in this field has taken me through foster care & adoption social work, medical social work, working with individuals with severe mental illness, and now community mental health. My professional experiences have deepened my understanding of how complex and overwhelming it can feel to navigate life.

My approach to therapy

Therapy with me is collaborative. My approach is rooted in a humanistic, client-centered, trauma-informed, and systems-oriented lens. I believe in creating a space where you feel safe, supported, and empowered as the expert of your own experience. I may ask thoughtful questions, reflect patterns, or offer new perspectives... all with care, intention and the occasional light humor. Think of me as someone who will sit with you in the hard moments, but also lovingly call you out (in the kindest way possible).

I integrate tools from cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and solution-focused techniques, while exploring how early childhood experiences and the systems you grew up in (family, culture, relationships) have shaped your patterns, relationships, and sense of self. We move at a pace that feels comfortable and manageable to you.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a space that is warm, supportive and free of judgement. We’ll spend time getting to know what’s bringing you to therapy, your current challenges and what you hope to gain from this process. I’ll explore areas including your current support systems, connection to community, hobbies, past experiences with mental health treatment, work life, home life, and how your current stressors are impacting your day-to-day-life.

Together, we’ll begin identifying goals that feel realistic for you and we’ll adjust those goals as needed. Nothing is set-in-stone... we can change direction any time something isn’t working or doesn’t feel right.
