Great to meet you!

My name is Husam “Alex” Salih, PMHNP-BC, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care for adolescents and adults. With over 10 years of healthcare experience, I have worked in a variety of settings, including emergency psychiatric services, crisis intervention, community mental health, and outpatient psychiatry.

I earned my advanced nursing education with a focus on psychiatric and mental health care and have extensive experience treating individuals facing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, insomnia, and other mental health concerns. I am particularly passionate about helping individuals with complex or treatment-resistant conditions and supporting patients through life’s challenges with personalized, patient-centered care.

My approach emphasizes collaboration, respect, and open communication. I believe that successful treatment begins with understanding each person’s unique experiences, goals, and strengths. Together, we develop individualized treatment plans that may include medication management, supportive therapy, lifestyle interventions, and coordination with other healthcare providers when needed.

At Evergreen Psychiatry PLLC, I strive to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered on their journey toward improved mental wellness. I look forward to partnering with you in achieving your mental health goals.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. I believe that every person has a unique story, and effective treatment begins with taking the time to understand each client’s experiences, challenges, strengths, and goals. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable discussing their concerns and actively participating in their treatment decisions.

I utilize evidence-based practices and work closely with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that may include medication management, education, lifestyle modifications, and coordination with therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals when appropriate. My goal is not only to reduce symptoms but also to improve overall functioning, quality of life, and long-term well-being.

I have experience treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, insomnia, and other mood and psychiatric conditions. I also have experience working with individuals experiencing crisis situations, complex mental health needs, and treatment-resistant conditions.

I value open communication, shared decision-making, and ongoing evaluation of treatment progress to ensure that care remains aligned with each client’s needs and goals. My focus is on helping clients build resilience, develop effective coping strategies, and achieve meaningful, lasting improvements in their mental health.

What you can expect from me

During your first appointment, you can expect a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where we will take the time to get to know one another. The initial session is focused on understanding your concerns, symptoms, personal history, current stressors, strengths, and treatment goals.

We will complete a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, which may include discussing your mental health history, medical history, medications, family history, lifestyle factors, and any previous treatment experiences. This helps ensure that I gain a thorough understanding of your unique situation and can provide the most appropriate recommendations.

By the end of the session, we will work together to develop an individualized treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals. This may include discussing potential diagnoses, medication options, therapy recommendations, lifestyle strategies, and any additional resources that may be beneficial. I encourage questions and value shared decision-making, so you can feel informed and comfortable with your treatment plan.

My goal is for you to leave the first appointment feeling heard, understood, and hopeful, with a clear understanding of the next steps and a collaborative plan to support your mental health and well-being.
