Great to meet you!

I work with adults who have been holding things together for a long time while struggling internally with anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, or recovery from addiction. Many of the clients I see are high functioning in their daily lives but feel emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, or impacted by past experiences that continue to affect them in the present.

I specialize in working with trauma survivors, people navigating depression and anxiety, individuals in recovery from substance use, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. My background includes work with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, individuals with dual diagnoses, and those living with chronic mental illness. This experience allows me to support clients with complex concerns in a steady, thoughtful, and trauma-informed way.

Many clients come to therapy after trying to manage on their own for years and realizing they want more support, relief, and clarity. I work best with people who are ready to engage in the process, reflect on patterns, and begin building healthier ways of coping and relating to themselves.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and trauma informed. I focus on creating a space where clients feel safe, respected, and not rushed, recognizing that meaningful change happens when people feel supported rather than pressured.

I work at a pace that is attentive to the nervous system and responsive to each client’s needs. Depending on what you are experiencing, our work may focus on reducing symptoms such as anxiety or depression, building practical coping skills, improving emotional regulation, or exploring patterns shaped by past experiences. Therapy is always individualized and guided by your goals.

I draw from both short-term, skills-based strategies and longer-term, insight-oriented work. This allows me to help clients find relief when symptoms feel overwhelming while also addressing deeper emotional and relational patterns over time.

When appropriate, I integrate expressive and somatic approaches, including sandtray therapy and other body-based or creative methods. These approaches can be helpful when experiences are difficult to put into words or when traditional talk therapy alone has not been effective. All interventions are optional and guided by your comfort level.

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I aim to provide an affirming and inclusive therapeutic space. I approach identity-related concerns with openness, cultural humility, and care, and I work collaboratively with clients to ensure therapy feels supportive and aligned with their values.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a chance for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We will talk about what you are currently struggling with, what led you to seek support at this time, and what you are hoping to gain from therapy. You are not expected to share everything at once, and we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I will ask questions to better understand your concerns, relevant background, and any prior experiences with therapy. We will also spend time discussing how I work, answering questions you may have, and addressing any concerns about the therapy process or about working together. This helps ensure that you feel informed and supported moving forward.

By the end of the session, we will begin identifying initial goals and possible next steps. Some clients feel relief after the first session, while others feel more oriented or grounded. Both responses are completely normal.

The first session focuses on building safety, understanding your needs, and establishing a foundation for collaborative work moving forward.
