Great to meet you!

Please feel free to call me Ian or Dr. Ian! I’m a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience, of Scottish and Sri Lankan descent, and a proud Fellow of the American Psychological Association. I especially love helping people move through anxiety, chronic pain, and depression. For over 40 years I’ve personally used mind body practices like meditation to transcend my own chronic pain and anxiety, and it would be my joy to help you find that same freedom and peace, even in the hardest moments.

My approach to therapy

I’d love to help you rediscover and reconnect with your own strengths. Together, we’ll do a little investigating to find which of your talents is best suited to meet whatever challenge you’re facing. Everything I use has good science behind it, and I’ve often used these methods myself. I also love helping people find deeper meaning in their struggles.

What you can expect from me

We’ll start by getting a close, empathic understanding of what you’re experiencing and the strengths you already carry. I’ll include some psychological testing to guide which methods will help you most, and these are tests you can never fail! It’s like searching for treasure together. I’d love to connect for a 15 minute consult.
