Great to meet you!

My name is Ida Garcia, and I offer bilingual (English/Spanish), trauma-informed Creative Arts Therapy to adults and adolescents. I strive to create a warm and supportive space where you can feel seen, heard, and accepted for who you are.

As a Cuban-born, Afro-Latina immigrant therapist, I bring cultural awareness and an understanding of the complexities of identity, belonging, relationships, and life transitions. One of my strengths is creating a nonjudgmental environment where you can explore your experiences with curiosity, creativity, and care.

My guiding mantra is: My only way is through love. If this resonates with you, I would be honored to accompany you on your healing journey.

My approach to therapy

I use a person-centered, creative approach to help adults explore emotions, relationships, anxiety, self-esteem, and life transitions. Through Creative Arts Therapy, we may use storytelling, movement, role-play, mindfulness, breathwork, and creative expression. We work at your pace, focusing on what you feel ready and willing to explore.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will be an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a trusting, supportive therapeutic relationship. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’re currently experiencing, and what you hope to work on. I’ll also learn more about your experiences, strengths, relationships, and ways of coping so we can begin identifying goals that feel meaningful to you.
