Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Idris Kabir Syed

Life can be hard, I get it and have been there; there are lots of ups and downs along the way and I am here to help. I am deeply committed to providing holistic, evidence based, trauma-informed mental health care, diagnosis, treatment and case planning to individuals, families and children in crisis and need. I have over 20 years experience (in both agency settings and private practice), after graduating with my M.Ed, in Counseling from Kent State University in 2001.

My approach to therapy

I believe in a down to earth, diverse and eclectic client centered approach to therapy. Utilizing evidence based treatments from a holistic (i.e. bio/psycho/social), trauma-informed perspective I work to help my clients in empowering themselves to see and make the changes they want in their lives. I have extensive training, educational background and practice in Family Systems, Solution Based, Narrative, and Mindful Gestalt and CBT Therapies.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to be heard, listened to, engaged and motivated, in a safe, ethical and caring way, so that they feel supported and encouraged to empower themselves to effect positive and proactive changes in their lives.
