Great to meet you!

Welcome to My Practice! As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), I am committed to helping adults achieve better mental health through compassionate, individualized, and evidence-based care. Trained at the University of Texas Health Science Center and holding a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, accurate diagnoses, and personalized medication management in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment.

I treat adults experiencing depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, insomnia, and other mental health conditions. I believe that effective mental health care begins with listening and understanding each person's unique experiences. Together, we will develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your goals, empowers your recovery, and supports lasting emotional well-being.

My approach to therapy

My Treatment Philosophy: My approach to psychiatric care involves conducting thorough assessments to achieve an accurate diagnosis, helping patients choose from various treatment options, including non-pharmacological interventions, when appropriate or when patients express reservations about initiating medication. Psychotherapeutic techniques are integrated into both my psychiatric evaluations and medication management appointments; however, I do not provide individual psychotherapy as part of my practice.

What you can expect from me

Your Journey Begins Here: The purpose of my initial interview is to obtain a biological, psychological, and social history of a patient to assist in forming an accurate psychiatric diagnosis, if present. Because a large amount of information is needed, I will be very focused on gathering facts and, at times, making interpretations of these facts.

The initial appointment is not about starting psychotherapy, although I may use psychotherapeutic techniques during the interview to build rapport, gain a better understanding of a patient’s history, and collaborate with a patient on a treatment plan they are willing to adhere to. I may order labs and/or ask for collateral information (e.g., medical records, statements from close family and/or friends, etc.) during the initial session or at subsequent visits in order to verify the information gathered during the initial session. I may also make referrals to other professionals (i.e., primary care providers, therapists, psychologists, etc.)
