Great to meet you!

I’m Ilene Robbins, a Licensed Professional Counselor and I believe meaningful change happens through connection, trust, and understanding. Clients often describe me as warm, highly perceptive and solution oriented . I strive to create a space where you can feel safe enough to be honest, understood, and supported without judgment.

I work with teens, adults, professionals, parents, and couples who may feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck — even when things appear “fine” on the outside. I have extensive experience supporting people through anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship challenges, parenting stress, and major life transitions.

As both a clinician and a parent, I understand how complex relationships and emotional worlds can be. I bring a balance of empathy, insight, and practical guidance to my work, helping clients make sense of patterns that feel confusing or painful and move toward healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and relating.

You don’t need to come in with perfectly formed goals, just a willingness to begin. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you feel less alone, more grounded, and more capable of creating meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is thoughtful, collaborative, and tailored to the whole person and the systems they live in. I believe meaningful change happens when clients feel truly seen, understood, and emotionally safe. I focus first on building trust and creating a grounded, supportive space where people can be honest about their thoughts, emotions, and lived experiences.

I work with teens, college students, adults, high-achieving professionals, couples, and families. Whether someone is navigating academic pressure, career stress, relationship challenges, parenting, or major life transitions, I help them slow things down, make sense of their inner world, and develop healthier ways of coping, communicating, and connecting.

My style balances depth with practicality. I help clients understand patterns, identify what may be keeping them stuck, and build skills that feel realistic and sustainable in daily life. I take a relational, whole-person perspective, often looking at family dynamics, attachment, and lived experiences rather than focusing only on symptoms.

Therapy with me is collaborative and active. I see it as a partnership where we work together to build insight, emotional regulation, resilience, and meaningful, lasting change.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a calm, warm, and grounded space where you don’t have to perform or have everything figured out. My primary goal is for you to feel safe, heard, and understood. I focus on listening deeply and learning about your experiences, concerns, and what feels most important to you right now.

We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, your goals (if you have them), and what you’ve already tried. I may ask thoughtful questions to better understand patterns, relationships, and stressors in your life, but there is no pressure to share more than you’re ready to.

This first session is less about “fixing” and more about building trust, clarity, and connection, so we can create a strong foundation for meaningful work together.
