Imanii Uwakwe

Hi! My name is Imanii Uwakwe and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with my bachelor’s and master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. My passion lies in helping people embrace growth and healing through the art of therapy.

I view therapy as a creative process — a space where you can design your own masterpiece, add new colors over time, and continue shaping your story. Within this process, I truly believe that each client carries unique strengths, perspectives, and untold parts of themselves that lead them to introspection and growth. My role is to walk alongside you as you uncover and rediscover those pieces of yourself that you never knew were there or that you were scared to tap into.

With a person-centered, collaborative, benevolent, mindful, and motivating approach, my goal as your therapist is to assist you in feeling strong, safe, and capable; I strive to create a supportive environment where you can see yourself through new lenses, develop self-compassion, and move toward the life you desire with authenticity and dignity. No matter where you are in your journey, I am here to support, guide, and encourage you as you step into the next chapter of your story.

The first session is always a scary space for some people, but I always tell clients to "allow yourself just to be." As we get into the session, you are running the show; you tell me what you don't want to discuss, if you feel we are moving to fast, your deepest secrets, and anything that lies in between! This is your space and it always will be, so let's make it what you've always wanted.
