Great to meet you!

I work with adults impacted by emotionally unsafe or controlling relationships, including experiences of emotional neglect or mistreatment. Some clients come to therapy already knowing this shaped them deeply; others come because they feel chronically self-doubting, tense, or unsure of themselves and sense that something has been wrong for a long time.

My approach is trauma-specialized and grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR , with careful attention to pacing, nervous-system safety, and collaboration. Therapy focuses on restoring internal safety and self-trust rather than pushing for insight or change before it’s ready.

I provide in-person therapy in Scottsdale, AZ, and telehealth across Arizona, California, and Massachusetts.

My approach to therapy

My work is grounded in the understanding that many adult struggles develop in response to emotionally unsafe or unpredictable relationships, rather than from something inherently wrong with the person.

I work collaboratively and at a pace that respects your nervous system. Therapy is not about pushing insight, forcing emotional exposure, or reliving experiences before you feel ready. We focus on understanding how your system learned to adapt, and how those adaptations may now be creating distress, self-doubt, or difficulty feeling safe in relationships.

I draw primarily from Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and attachment-focused approaches. These methods are used thoughtfully and flexibly, based on what feels most stabilizing and useful for you. The work emphasizes emotional safety, clarity, and rebuilding trust in your own perceptions rather than symptom elimination alone.

My role is to help you make sense of patterns that once served an important protective purpose, and to support change that is steady, grounded, and sustainable. You will not be rushed, pushed to forgive, or asked to confront anything before your system is ready.

What you can expect from me

The first session is focused on helping you get oriented and feel grounded, not on pushing you to share more than feels manageable.

We’ll spend time clarifying what brings you in, what feels most important to address right now, and what you’re hoping therapy might help with. You do not need to tell your entire story, revisit traumatic events, or have clear language for what’s wrong. Part of the work is making sense of what feels confusing or hard to name.

I’ll ask questions to understand your current concerns, relevant background, and what has or hasn’t been helpful in past therapy, if applicable. We’ll also talk about pacing, boundaries, and what helps you feel safe enough to do this work.

By the end of the session, you can expect to have a clearer sense of how I work, whether this feels like a good fit, and what next steps might look like. There is no pressure to commit or to move faster than feels right.
