I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner and have specialized to provide therapy and prescribe medication-assisted treatment for patients who have mental health concerns, or a substance use disorder (SUD). I provide behavioral counseling and education of patients and their families about psychiatric symptoms, maintain compliance with treatment plans, and detect adverse effects from prescribed medication.
My goal as a psychiatric nurse practitioner is providing comfort and assisting my patients by applying their internal resources to promote, maintain, and restore mental health by changing their lifestyle and negative behaviors. During encounters with clients, I utilize the ability to effectively identify, evaluate, and manage the emotional and psychiatric problems that they may encounter in various types of psychiatric practice.
I demonstrate positive evidence of different cultural perspectives, preferences, and beliefs by recognizing multicultural issues, concerns, and behavioral needs for my patients and their families.
