Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome. My name is Iraisy Mendez and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to adolescents and adults. My goal is to create a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their treatment journey.

I earned my nursing and advanced practice education from Walden University , where I specialized in psychiatric and mental health care. My clinical experience includes working with individuals facing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, trauma-related conditions, insomnia, and stress-related challenges. I also have experience supporting patients undergoing advanced treatments such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).

My approach to therapy

My approach to treatment is collaborative and personalized. I believe mental health care should address the whole person — emotional, physical, and social well-being — while tailoring treatment plans to each individual’s unique needs and goals. Depending on the situation, treatment may include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, supportive therapy, lifestyle recommendations, and coordination of care with other healthcare professionals.

I am passionate about helping clients improve their quality of life, develop healthy coping strategies, and achieve long-term emotional wellness. Whether you are seeking support for the first time or continuing your mental health journey, I look forward to working with you in a compassionate and professional setting.

I welcome the opportunity to support you on your path toward healing and wellness.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and confidential environment where they can openly discuss their concerns without judgment. My priority is to help each person feel comfortable, heard, and understood while we begin building a strong therapeutic relationship.

The initial appointment typically includes a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation where we review current symptoms, emotional and medical history, past treatments, medications, lifestyle factors, stressors, and personal goals for care. I also take time to understand each client’s strengths, support system, and any challenges impacting daily functioning, relationships, work, or overall well-being.

Together, we will identify treatment goals and develop a personalized plan that fits the client’s needs and preferences. Depending on the situation, this may include medication management, supportive therapy, coping strategies, lifestyle recommendations, or discussion of additional treatment options such as TMS. Clients are encouraged to ask questions and actively participate in the treatment process.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and patient-centered. I strive to create a safe space where clients feel respected, empowered, and supported as they work toward improved mental health, emotional balance, and long-term wellness.
