Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 20 years of experience. My areas of specialization include Anxiety, Depression, Grief/Loss, Eating Disorders/Body Image, as well as issues regarding Cultural Identity/Acculturation.

My approach to therapy

My approach is influenced by a number of counseling styles, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychoanalytic therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy as well as Mindfulness Based Techniques. However, I am somewhat integrative during sessions, as in my view, it is important to meet each client’s individual needs. I strive to provide a safe and nonjudgmental environment, focused on building increased self-understanding, self-compassion, as well as skills and resiliency.

What you can expect from me

In my experience, therapy often leads to more effective management and/or decrease of unwanted symptoms, and to establishing healthier ways to cope with one’s challenges. My goal for clients is to be more self-aware and self-compassionate, which both greatly contribute to one’s healthier life, ultimately leading to a life worth living.
