I have a wide range of education and life experience. I have degrees in Art, Theology, Counseling and Bodywork. This background provides a rich, and holistic perspective of each person and their present symptoms. I am bilingual, originally from Latin America, and have worked with clients from a variety of cultural and religious backgrounds .
My approach is guided by Bowen Family Systems theory which provides a great framework to understanding the client's symptoms and guide treatment. I also use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for relief of trauma symptoms as needed.
During the first session, clients can expect to provide information on their symptoms, health, relationship, trauma, work , and family of origin. My aim is to get a full picture of the client's life, symptoms, and their goals for therapy. Clients can expect to gain a better understanding of themselves, discover healthier ways to adapt to challenges and be empowered to enjoy more meaningful, fulfilling lives, and relationships grounded in shared responsibility.
