Great to meet you!
I’m Dr. Irma S. Rivera, a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 20 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families. I earned my Doctorate in Psychology from Carlos Albizu University and am licensed in both Florida and Puerto Rico.
Throughout my career, I have worked in hospital, community, academic, addiction-recovery, and private-practice settings. I specialize in anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, chronic illness, caregiver stress, parenting and family concerns, and co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges. I also have extensive experience supporting children with developmental and learning needs, as well as individuals and families navigating serious medical diagnoses and treatment.
My approach is compassionate, culturally responsive, and grounded in meeting you with empathy and respect. I understand that our emotional well-being is often shaped by our relationships, family experiences, culture, health, and the different transitions we face throughout life. My goal is to create a supportive space where you feel understood while working toward meaningful and lasting change.
I provide virtual therapy in both English and Spanish and am especially passionate about making culturally responsive care more accessible to Spanish-speaking clients and families.
