Great to meet you!

I’m Israel González Cruz, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with six years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through emotional challenges, relationship stress, and personal growth.

I work with clients from diverse backgrounds, with a strong focus on the Latin American community. I speak English and Spanish. I understand the impact of cultural expectations, family dynamics, and unspoken pressures that can shape emotional experiences and relationships.

Clients often come to me for support with anxiety, emotional regulation, trauma-related stress, family conflict, and boundary-setting. I take a structured and collaborative approach, helping clients understand their patterns while building practical skills to create meaningful and lasting change.

I aim to provide a calm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel understood, gain clarity, and move toward greater emotional stability and personal growth.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is structured, collaborative, and practical. I work with clients to identify patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and help them develop clear strategies to respond more effectively to life’s challenges.

I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and emotionally focused strategies depending on each client’s needs. I focus on both insight and action, helping clients understand why something is happening while also giving them tools to manage it in real time.

I tend to be direct while remaining supportive. I guide sessions with clear direction, ask focused questions, and help clients stay engaged in the process of change. My goal is not only to help clients feel better, but to help them build skills they can continue using outside of therapy.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a structured but comfortable first session focused on understanding what brings them to therapy and what they would like to change or improve.

I will guide the conversation with clear questions while also giving space for clients to share at their own pace. We will explore current concerns, relevant background, and begin identifying patterns that may be contributing to emotional stress or difficulty.

I prioritize creating a safe and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard and respected from the start. By the end of the session, clients can expect to have more clarity about their situation and a general direction for treatment, including initial goals and practical next steps.
