Great to meet you!

My approach to counseling was forged in the trenches of real-world recovery. For four years, I practiced at A Healthy Image Counseling and Consulting Services, where I worked extensively with court-mandated probation services, mental health, and substance abuse.

It was during those years—sitting face-to-face with individuals navigating some of the most difficult, high-stakes chapters of their lives—that my core philosophy was born. Through many raw, honest confides, I realized that true recovery and growth do not come from shame or forced compliance. Instead, they come when we have the courage to look beneath the surface of our behaviors and understand the "why" behind our actions.

I want you to know that when you sit across from me, you are in a completely non-judgmental space. I am uniquely equipped to handle heavy, complex struggles, and I specialize in helping individuals navigate:

  • Substance Use & Addiction Recovery: Moving past shame to address the underlying pain, trauma, or habits driving substance use.
  • Court-Mandated & System-Involved Support: Providing practical, respectful therapy for those navigating probation, legal stressors, or rehabilitation.
  • Shadow Work & Self-Discovery: Unpacking deeply rooted patterns, behaviors, and defense mechanisms to foster genuine self-compassion.
  • I'm also bilingual and offer sessions in both English and Spanish — ofrezco terapia en español.

My approach to therapy

My practice is guided by a philosophy that lies at the very heart of how I view healing:

"We admitted we were not powerless over our actions, but often blind to their origins—that true goodness is not the absence of wrong, but the awareness of why we choose right, and the courage to confront the shadows that shape our intentions."

I believe that therapy is not about achieving flawless perfection; it is about building the self-awareness to understand why we make the choices we do. Because of this, my approach is deeply collaborative, honest, and strength-based. We won't just focus on quick, surface-level fixes. Together, we will gently explore the patterns, past experiences, and deeper "shadows" that shape your daily life, giving you the clarity and power to consciously choose a healthier, more intentional path forward.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is all about building safety, trust, and connection. I understand that walking into therapy—especially if you have felt judged, misunderstood, or forced into it in the past—can feel incredibly intimidating.

During our first session, we will go at your pace. You can expect:

  • A Warm, Non-Judgmental Space: A quiet, respectful environment where all parts of your story and your past are welcome.
  • An Open Conversation: We will talk about what has brought you to therapy, what you hope to get out of it, and what has or hasn’t worked for you in the past.
  • Collaborative Goal Setting: We will begin to map out what healing and progress look like to you, ensuring that you are always the co-pilot in your own therapeutic journey.

You do not need to have everything figured out before you sit down with me—you just need to bring a willingness to start the conversation.
