Great to meet you!

Hi! I am a licensed mental health counselor with diagnostic privilege who specializes in supporting adults, children, teens, and families healing from trauma, anxiety, posttraumatic stress, and depression. I bring a gentle, compassionate presence and focus to create a safe space where clients feel heard and understood. My approach is client-centered, non-judgmental, and focused on helping each person grow at their own pace. I am welcoming and easy to talk to and offer care in both English and Spanish.

My approach to therapy

I work by creating a warm, safe, and supportive space where clients feel respected and understood from the very first session. Using a client-centered and non-judgmental approach, I blend trauma-informed care with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and family therapy to support healing for adults, children, adolescents, and families. I also help clients build practical skills to manage emotions, strengthen relationships, and cope with stress in ways that feel empowering. With experience supporting clients with immigration-related challenges, I approach each story with cultural sensitivity, compassion, and deep respect. Whether in English or Spanish, her goal is to walk alongside clients at their own pace, helping them feel safe, grounded, and supported throughout their healing journey.

What you can expect from me

Common Goals or Outcomes for the First Session:

  • Getting to know the client’s story: Understanding what brings them in, their strengths, challenges, and what feels most important right now.
  • Establishing safety and comfort: Helping clients feel supported, creating a foundation for trauma-informed work, and ensuring adults, children, and teens feel heard.
  • Discussing hopes and goals: Exploring what the client or family wants to work on—managing emotions, improving communication, healing from trauma, adjusting to immigration-related stress, etc.
  • Introducing coping tools: Offering simple, grounding strategies from DBT or CBT to help clients feel more regulated right away.
  • Clarifying therapy structure: Explaining how sessions work, confidentiality, and how parents and caregivers are involved when working with youth.
  • Beginning a collaborative plan: Setting early steps for healing, whether it’s building emotional skills, strengthening family relationships, or navigating stress tied to life transitions or immigration experiences.

Overall, the first session focuses on connection, safety, and creating a shared understanding of what healing can look like—together.
