Great to meet you!

Reaching out for therapy can be a big step. Hello, I'm Ja'Kerria, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Mississippi and a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and I'm passionate about helping people feel seen, supported, and understood as they navigate difficult seasons of life. I have several years of experience supporting adults and young adults with their emotional and psychological well-being, working with clients from a wide range of backgrounds. My clinical background includes helping people manage stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, and emotional disturbances. Whatever brought you here, you won't have to work through it alone.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy is a collaborative partnership, so I work alongside you to build resilience, gain insight, and create meaningful personal growth. My approach is tailored to each individual, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and Reality Therapy depending on what actually fits your situation. I'll meet you where you are and work at your pace — no rushing, and no one-size-fits-all plan. Above all, I aim to offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, valued, and empowered to move forward.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming environment where we begin getting to know each other, talk through what brought you to therapy, and start identifying your goals. Together we'll explore your concerns, look at the strengths you already have, and begin shaping a treatment plan that's genuinely personalized to you. There's no pressure to have everything figured out before you arrive — that's part of what we'll do together. My hope is that you leave that first conversation feeling heard and hopeful about the work ahead.
