Great to meet you!
You've always been the capable one, dependable at work, in relationships, in daily life. But somewhere along the way, the strategies that used to work started to cost more than they give. Maybe it's anxiety that won't settle. Maybe it's burnout from constantly pushing through. Maybe it's grief, a major life transition, or a change in your health that's upended what you thought your life would look like. Whatever brought you here, you may already understand your patterns intellectually — the harder part is changing them in real time.
You Might:
- Feel responsible for keeping everything stable, even when your own health is suffering
- Struggle to set limits because saying no feels uncomfortable, even when your body is telling you to slow down
- Understand your patterns intellectually, but still repeat them when stress or illness increases
- Push past your limits because resting feels undeserved — then pay for it later
- Appear "fine" while privately feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, or disconnected from the life you used to have
These aren't failures of awareness or effort. They're patterns your nervous system learned over time to help you cope, achieve, and stay in control, and much of your identity may be tied to that capability. When illness or health changes limit what you can do, it can feel like losing part of who you are, and grieving the person you were before sits right alongside adapting to who you are now.
Many of the people I work with already have real insight, they've read, reflected, and worked hard to understand their patterns. What's harder is changing them in real time, especially when they're tangled up with anxiety, relationships, perfectionism, or the pressure to keep functioning despite what your health is asking of you.
