Great to meet you!

Hey, I’m Jake, a therapist based in Colorado. I work with adults dealing with anxiety, depression, substance use, bipolar disorder, and major life changes. My background in community mental health helps me stay grounded, practical, and nonjudgmental in my approach, and I value meeting people exactly where they are.

I focus on creating a space where you feel comfortable, supported, and able to be yourself, while also helping you build real tools for change. Therapy with me is about both understanding what’s going on and taking steps to improve it. If you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed, I’m here to help you move forward at your own pace in a way that feels manageable and meaningful.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical, and tailored to you. I aim to create a relaxed, nonjudgmental environment while also providing enough structure so sessions feel focused and productive. I believe therapy should be both a place to process and a place to build skills you can actually use in your day-to-day life.

I often draw from CBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy to help you better understand your thoughts, manage emotions, and make changes that feel sustainable. Together, we’ll explore what’s been challenging, identify patterns that may be holding you back, and develop strategies to help you feel more stable, clear, and in control.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a relaxed, welcoming space where we get to know each other and talk about what brought you in. We’ll go over your current challenges, your goals, and what you’d like to get out of therapy. I’ll ask some questions to better understand your background and what you’ve been experiencing, but there’s no pressure to share everything all at once.

We’ll also talk about how I work and what you can expect moving forward. By the end of the session, we’ll begin building a plan together so you leave with a clearer sense of direction and next steps, as well as a better idea of how we can work together to support your goals.
