Great to meet you!

As a licensed clinical social worker, I believe prioritizing your mental health is one of the best investments you can make. Seeking help can be the hardest part, so congratulations on taking that step! I've been practicing for 7 years with children, teens, families, and adults, working through a trauma-informed lens. I pay close attention to how past experiences are still shaping your present. Much of my work is with people in the middle of a big transition, or carrying something old that's finally asking to be dealt with.

My approach to therapy

I'm an active therapist. I ask questions, name what I'm noticing, and will push back when I think it's useful but that only works if you trust me, so building that comes first. My training spans CBT, mindfulness, family systems, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing, and I move between them based on the person rather than the protocol. Much of my work involves helping people connect a current pattern to where it came from, then testing out something different. Progress usually looks less like a breakthrough and more like a series of small changes that hold.

What you can expect from me

The first session is mostly me getting to know you. I'll ask what brought you in now, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping is different six months from now. You don't need to have polished answers, "I'm not sure, things just feel off" is a completely fine place to start. Toward the end we'll talk about what working together would look like, and you should leave with a sense of whether it feels like a fit. If it doesn't, I'd rather help you find someone who is.
