Jake Wilmes- Journey Psyche Profile

Through years of practice treating adults with acute and chronic mental health

diagnoses, he has developed an effective, patient-centered approach to treating

psychiatric symptoms. Jake has a strong background in treating individuals

experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and various other psychiatric

related concerns.

Approach/Style

My focused approach to psychiatric care utilizes compassionate, collaborative, and

patient-centered style of patient care. I believe every patient is unique and presents with

their own distinctive treatment needs when providing psychiatric care. I strive to create a

welcoming, non-judgmental environment where each person feels heard, respected,

and understood. I believe patients should be active participants in their care, and I work

alongside them to develop individualized treatment plans that align with their own

distinctive goals, values, and expected treatment outcomes.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, structured, and focused on results.

During visits, we look at the full picture of your mental health — including symptoms, stressors, sleep, focus, mood patterns, and past treatment experiences. From there we develop a medication plan that is tailored to your needs.

Medication management is not just about prescribing — it is about monitoring progress, adjusting treatment carefully, and making sure medications are helping you move forward.

Patients often appreciate that our visits are:

• focused and organized

• easy to follow

• supportive and judgment-free

My goal is for you to leave each appointment feeling clear about your treatment plan and confident about the next steps.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation where we take time to understand your symptoms, history, and treatment goals.

During this visit we will:

• review your current concerns

• discuss past treatments or medications

• evaluate symptoms such as anxiety, depression, focus issues, or mood changes

• determine whether medication may help

• create a clear treatment plan moving forward

Some patients start with a short consultation visit to discuss their situation and see if we are a good fit before scheduling a full evaluation.

If we move forward together, the initial evaluation allows us to build a treatment plan and schedule follow-up visits to monitor progress and adjust medications as needed.

My goal is to make the process straightforward, supportive, and focused on helping you feel better.
