Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Jackie, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner providing telepsychiatry in Arizona, and I'm so glad you're here. I know reaching out for mental health support can feel overwhelming, so my goal is to make our time together feel more like a conversation than an appointment, with no judgment, no rushing, and space to figure out together what actually works for you.

Over my 20 years in healthcare, I've worked in major health systems and psychiatric settings that shaped my approach to thoughtful, evidence-based care. I co-founded Pura Vida Mind & Body to offer something that can be difficult to find in larger systems: the time and relationship needed to understand you as a whole person, not just a diagnosis.

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns. Together, we'll look beyond individual symptoms and explore how things like mood, anxiety, trauma, attention, sleep, stress, relationships, and physical health may intersect. That may mean taking a fresh look at a previous diagnosis, making sense of overlapping symptoms, or reconsidering a treatment plan that hasn't been working for you.

I combine medication management with psychotherapy and take a collaborative approach to treatment. Your priorities and goals remain at the center of our work, while I bring evidence-based recommendations and clinical guidance to help us decide on a plan together. Ultimately, I want you to feel heard, understood, and actively involved in your care.

My approach to therapy

My style is warm, conversational, and collaborative. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, sharing concerns, and being an active part of decisions about your care. We'll talk about what's most important to you and build a treatment plan around your goals, preferences, and what feels realistic for your life.

I work with adults across a range of mental health concerns, with particular interests in anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, bipolar disorder, and more complex or overlapping symptoms. I especially enjoy helping clients make sense of symptoms that don't fit neatly into one diagnosis or when previous treatments haven't provided the results they hoped for.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about getting to know you and understanding what brought you to care. We'll talk through your current concerns, what you've experienced in the past, previous diagnoses and treatments, medications, medical history, sleep, stressors, relationships, and the goals you have for treatment.

I also want to understand what's working well in your life, not just what's been challenging. We'll begin making sense of how the different pieces may fit together and discuss my initial impressions and recommendations. You'll have plenty of time to ask questions and share what feels most important to you. From there, we'll develop a plan together, which may include medication, psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, further evaluation, or a combination of approaches.
