Great to meet you!

First and foremost, I get it. If you're reading this while juggling a million things – kids screaming in the background, work emails pinging, wondering when you last had five minutes to yourself – I see you because I've been exactly where you are.

I'm not just a therapist who studied anxiety and overwhelm in textbooks. I'm a working mom of three kids born in 2.5 years, married for 20+ years, who has lived through the beautiful chaos you're experiencing. I know what it's like to feel like you're failing at everything even when you're giving it your all. I understand the guilt, the exhaustion, and that nagging feeling that everyone else has figured it out except you.

What sets me apart is that I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to our sessions. I've been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2012 with over a decade of experience at places like UT Arlington and Children's Medical Center. I use evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, and mindfulness – but I apply them through the lens of someone who truly understands your daily reality.

I believe therapy should feel real and relatable, not clinical and disconnected. Whether you're a young professional feeling overwhelmed, a new mom wondering where your identity went, or a working parent trying to balance it all, I meet you where you are without judgment.

My goal isn't just to help you survive – it's to help you create a life you actually want to live, not just one you're managing to get through. Because trust me, it's possible to thrive in the beautiful mess of modern life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded in evidence-based practices but delivered with the understanding that comes from lived experience. I combine Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you recognize and shift those unhelpful thought patterns, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for managing overwhelming emotions and improving relationships, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to help you find actual peace in the chaos.

But here's what makes my approach different: I don't just apply these techniques from a textbook. I use them through the lens of someone who has navigated the same struggles you're facing. When we work on anxiety management, I'm drawing from both my clinical training and my experience of feeling overwhelmed while trying to balance everything. When we address life transitions, I understand firsthand how disorienting major changes can feel.

I believe therapy should feel collaborative and real, not clinical and disconnected. We'll dig into the root causes of what's keeping you stuck, but we'll also develop practical strategies you can actually use in your daily life – whether that's managing work stress, navigating relationship challenges, or finding yourself again after major life changes.

My goal is to create a safe space where you can be completely honest about your struggles without judgment. Together, we'll work through whatever habits, hangups, and past experiences might be holding you back so you can create a life that feels fulfilling rather than just survivable.

No matter how big or small your struggles feel, you deserve to thrive, not just survive.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to leave our sessions with practical tools they can actually use in their daily lives, not just theoretical concepts that sound good but don't work in the real world.

You'll gain concrete strategies for managing anxiety and overwhelm using CBT techniques to identify and shift those unhelpful thought patterns that keep you stuck. Through DBT skills, you'll learn how to regulate overwhelming emotions and improve your relationships – whether that's with your partner, your kids, or your colleagues. And with mindfulness practices, you'll discover how to find moments of actual peace even in the chaos of daily life.

But beyond the clinical tools, you'll develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your patterns. We'll uncover the root causes of what's keeping you feeling stuck or overwhelmed, so you're not just managing symptoms but creating lasting change.

Most importantly, you'll gain perspective and self-compassion. Many of my clients come in feeling like they're failing at everything, and they leave understanding that their struggles are normal responses to very real challenges. You'll learn to be kinder to yourself while still moving toward the life you want.

You can expect to feel heard and understood in a way that goes beyond professional empathy – because I've lived many of the same experiences you're navigating. My goal is that you leave each session feeling a little more capable, a little more hopeful, and with practical steps you can take to create a life you're thriving in, not just surviving.
