Great to meet you!

Parenting can be challenging, especially when your child is struggling with big emotions, anxiety, or behaviors that are difficult to understand. You may feel worried, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to best support your child. You don't have to figure it all out alone.

I'm a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) specializing in working with children and families. I help children navigate emotional and behavioral challenges, build confidence, and develop a stronger sense of self.

I believe every child deserves to feel seen, heard, understood, and accepted for who they are. I also value working closely with parents because meaningful change happens not only in the therapy room, but also through the relationships children have with those who matter most to them.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, compassionate, and relationship-centered. I primarily use Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), based on the belief that play is a child's natural language and a powerful way to express feelings and process experiences.

During sessions, I provide a safe and accepting environment where children can explore emotions, express themselves through play, and develop confidence at their own pace. Rather than focusing only on changing behaviors, I work to understand the feelings and unmet needs behind them.

My experience working with children and families has reinforced the importance of involving parents in the therapeutic process. Through parent consultations and developmentally appropriate parent-child interventions, I help caregivers better understand their children, respond to emotional needs, and strengthen their relationships.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it's completely normal to have questions or feel unsure about what to expect.

For child clients, our first session is typically a parent or caregiver intake session, where we meet without the child present. We'll talk about your child's strengths, challenges, developmental history, and family experiences. I'll also explain my approach to play therapy, answer your questions, and discuss what our work together might look like.

There's no pressure to share everything at once or have all the answers. You can share at your own pace, and we'll work together to identify goals that feel meaningful for your child and family. My hope is that you leave our first meeting feeling heard, supported, and more confident about the next steps.
