Great to meet you!

I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults for 25 years. In college, I planned to become an art teacher; however, teaching was not a good fit, and I was encouraged to look into Counseling and art therapy. My college did not have courses in art or expressive therapy. This barrier didn't stop me. I created my courses and found an internship working with adults on the autism spectrum.

My postgraduate experience consists of working with group therapy, individuals aged 4-73. I have parenting education and a moderate amount of experience with family therapy. I have been an art and clinical therapist in residential facilities, the Chicago Public Schools, Evanston Public Schools, inpatient and Outpatient Hospitals, Community Service Centers, and in private practice settings.

My approach to therapy

I use evidence-based modalities interventions in conjunction with expressive therapies to treat trauma survivors, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, adjustment disorders, ASD level 1, and bipolar disorders.

What you can expect from me

Counseling allows people to tap into their inner resources, discover their strengths, and process difficult emotions. As a clinician, I believe that expressive therapies are powerful tools for reconnecting with ourselves and others on a deeper level. Healing takes work, and the goal is to empower people's understanding that the work brings back new light." I strongly believe that is an opportunity to heal when disregulation occurs, when life causes darkness and discomfort keeps us from recognizing our strengths and feeling happiness". Finding happiness is often believed to come from external sources. I use methods to uncover the happiness within.
