Great to meet you!

Jamaika believes that every client is the expert in their own life. Her role as a therapist is to walk alongside clients offering support, insight, and guidance, while also challenging them when needed, so they can grow, heal, and move forward in a way that feels authentic. Her goal is to meet each person where they are while staying focused on their individual goals. Jamaika works with clients navigating a variety of life transitions, such as toxic relationships, building self-esteem, career or academic changes, or simply feeling stuck. Jamaika also supports individuals managing depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and other mental health challenges.

While she serves a wide range of clients, Jamaika specializes in three areas:

Elite & Professional Athletes: As a former Division I athlete, Jamaika understands the pressure, identity challenges, and performance demands athletes face. She enjoys working with athletes at all levels, whether they’re striving to stay at the top of their game or transitioning into life beyond sport.

Domestic Violence & Abuse Survivors: Jamaika provides a safe, supportive space for individuals healing from emotional, physical, mental, or sexual abuse. She helps clients reclaim their voice, rebuild confidence, and move forward in their healing process.

Substance Use & Addictions: Jamaika works with clients struggling with alcohol or drug misuse, helping them identify patterns and develop healthier coping strategies for lasting change.

Her therapeutic approach is flexible and tailored to each client’s needs. She draws from a variety of modalities, including CBT, DBT, and trauma-focused treatments like EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). If faith and spirituality are important to a client, Jamaika is happy to incorporate Christian-based counseling upon request.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is flexible, person-centered, and deeply rooted in meeting clients where they are. I bring a balanced mix of being upbeat, straightforward, and easygoing, which helps create a comfortable and open space for clients to share. I value authenticity and use humor when appropriate to help build connection and ease.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all method. Instead, I focus on adapting my style to fit the unique needs, goals, and personality of each client. Whether someone needs direct feedback, a listening ear, or space to process at their own pace, I adjust accordingly. One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to remain flexible and responsive to what each individual needs in the moment.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to leave sessions with a sense of relief, reduced confusion, increased positive emotions, and a greater sense of direction, depending on their goals and the focus of the discussion. My primary aim is to address what matters most to my clients in each session.

In our initial session, we’ll work together to establish treatment goals and a plan tailored to what brought the client into therapy. However, I recognize that life is unpredictable, and there are times when clients may need to process recent, pressing issues. I intentionally hold space for those moments, allowing clients to debrief and work through new challenges, while still keeping their original goals in focus.
