James Camp

At James Camp PLLC, DBA Breakwater Psychiatry and Mental Health, psychiatric nurse practitioner James Camp, NP, takes an eclectic approach to improving the mental and emotional wellness of adults, adolescents, and children ages 5 and up.

James has an extensive background in health care, opening his private psychiatric and mental health practice in 2023 after several years as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Prior to that, he served in the US Navy for 25 years as a critical care, emergency room, and combat trauma nurse. Before that, he worked in a hospital for patients requiring intensive psychiatric care. He graduated with his Master's Degree in Psychiatry from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Denver, Colorado, in 2018.

The advanced treatment options available at James Camp PLLC, DBA Breakwater Psychiatry and Mental Health, include solution-focused individual psychotherapy, mindfulness practices, and lifestyle changes. When deemed necessary, James will prescribe medications to provide lasting symptom control. He provides close follow-up of all patients choosing medication management to lower the risk for underdosing and overdosing and to minimize side effects.

James believes strongly in the power of collaborating with individuals on their path to better health. He values the time he spends with patients from all walks of life, helping them define their goals, reduce bothersome symptoms, and reach their full potential.
