Great to meet you!

I am an LCSW who graduated from Valdosta State University GA. I have experience as a school social worker/ crisis intervention social worker/hospice social worker/and I am a retired military veteran of 24 years. I counsel children, adults, and seniors with a variety of MH issues. I counsel with empathy, understanding, and an open mind. I specialize in brief therapy that can be solution focused, but try to give my clients insight and tools to become successful in overcoming their current issues.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is that it does not have to feel like your in therapy, at least not every session. I use a variety of techniques and modalities to fit YOU. Have you heard the phrase everyone learns differently? My approach to therapy is the same. I try different approaches to see what works for you. I try to challenge your thinking, and have you look at an issue in a different and more helpful way. Weather it's a metaphor, role play, or strength based, we will find what works for you!

What you can expect from me

My hope is that my clients end our sessions THINKING. Thinking about the skills they may have learned, a different outlook on viewing the same problem, coping strategies, or simply finding strengths that they didn't think they had. I will support them in their journey to overcome the obstacles that they have. I hope they leave feeling hopeful and optimistic that their issues may not feel as overwhelming as when they started. We will work together for as long as it takes to meet these goals.
