Great to meet you!

Welcome to my profile. I admire and applaud your decision to seek support! I can appreciate that doing so is a courageous decision, and I am confident that your commitment to therapy will allow you to experience the quality of life which you so richly deserve. I have over 30 years of experience working in Behavioral Health services, and I absolutely love what I do! My experience includes 25 years at an urban VA Medical Center ( PTSD Clinical Team), Hospital based Mental Health Crisis Center administration and clinician, Hospital Cancer Board, Homeless Services, extensive hospice support, 18 years residence abroad (Italy and China), and strong multicultural understanding and skills, Grief and Loss Therapy certification.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy includes creating and maintaining a safe and trusting professional relationship which is non-judgmental, strength based, and compassionate. Therapy is geared toward the specific goals of the client which may be short term evidence based treatment, or perhaps longer term insight oriented psychotherapy.

What you can expect from me

My clients can expect a first session wherein they experience being truly heard and affirmed. We will work toward developing a list of issues which you would like to address in therapy. This therapist well understands that the assessment process will unfold over time as understanding your life experiences can not be captured in a 50 minute session. Know that I will continue to affirm your strengths as I believe that the capacity to heal is within you.
