Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm James Greenwald, a licensed professional counselor with 10+ years of experience in both private practice and public mental health services here in North Texas. I'm a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, and my training centers on concepts and skills from dialectical behavioral and family systems models of therapy. I specialize in assisting clients struggling with depression, anxiety, patterns of addiction, life transitions, boundaries, and various levels of trauma recovery.

My approach to therapy

Therapy isn't a guaranteed silver bullet to stop the distress in your life dead in it's tracks, but it can definitely equip you with a deeper understanding of yourself and effective tools to recalibrate and balance your life and mental well-being. I work with clients to build insight and mindfulness, self-confidence, and trust in one's own judgment. If you'd like to restore hope in your life, then I invite you to explore vulnerability and self-acceptance with me.

What you can expect from me

I don't like to waste time - if you're in distress, we'll make sure you have some emotional regulation tools at your disposal by the end of the first session. I assist my clients in exploring patterns of behavior and understanding the unmet needs behind their choices and actions.
