My name is Jim, and I am looking forward to meeting and working with you. Reaching out for support is not an easy thing to do. In my view, it is a sign of strength. It's common to feel anxious, uncomfortable, or hesitant starting therapy. I want to let you know that I'm here to support you as we get to know each other. I am a Board Certified Licensed Professional Counselor, and I have many years of experience working with a diverse range of clients. M
In my approach to therapy, I think it important to have clients feel safe, supported and not judged. The goals of therapy will be yours. I do not impose my ideas, values or beliefs on you. I understand that you’ve come here seeking support for life events that you are going through. Together, we’ll explore ways to move forward that feel right for you. This is a safe, non-judgemental, and confidential space. We will go at your pace and timing. I do try to be flexible with scheduling and always try to accommodate a clients needs. If you have any questions before our first session, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
My approach is client-centered, and I am dedicated to tailoring our sessions to meet your unique needs and goals.
The first session is very important. It will give you a chance to "size me up," to help you determine if I am the right therapist for you. One goal for our first session is to establish rapport with each other. It is hoped that you will get a sense that I am someone that understands what you are dealing with and does not judge you.
