Great to meet you!

I have a Masters in Social Work Degree, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have many years of experience in the social services field including Child Protective Services, Adult Protective Services, County Behavioral Health and working with military service members and their families. I have also worked Home Health and Hospice as a Social Worker. I have worked with abused children and families, elderly and people who are dying and their family members and with adults with moderate to severe mental health issues. I have also worked with teenagers sent to counseling by the court. And I have worked with couples in relationship counseling. I have worked with diverse populations in diverse settings and I am open minded and truly try to understand ones life story/

My approach to therapy

I listen and try to clarify by asking questions to obtain a better understanding and then utilize techniques I have learned over the years mainly relying on Cognitive Behavioral therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy for Trauma as well as stress management techniques.

What you can expect from me

During the first session I introduce myself and try to understand where and how one grew up and how whatever issue they are working on now became an issue, and how has the person tried to manage the issue in the past. I also hope to understand a person's expectations of therapy and their commitment.
