Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm James!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor that has over 20 years experience in the mental health field of practice. I have worked in several practice settings and levels of care. I believe that the path to healing is through authentic connection and honesty with self. I am devoted to helping my clients achieve their life goals, heal trauma issues, improve their relationships, gain new insights and skills, obtain inter-personal growth, and function at their optimal best self.

IMPORTANT: YOU MUST CALL, EMAIL, or TEXT to set up and confirm your appointment. Availability will vary on my scheduled work days time slots.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is an eclectic combination of multiple theoretical approaches that provide therapy based on the idea that "one-size" does not fit all. I utilize techniques from 20 plus years of experience, certification trainings, research, and study from several theoretical approaches that include: CBT, DBT, CPT, Mindfulness - MBCT, ACT, SFBT, AEDP, and a host of other proven effective techniques to help my clients heal, and gain insights and skills to live at their highest potential.

What you can expect from our first session

Our first session together is for us to begin building a connection of trust or therapeutic alliance by talking about your life history, and your presenting problems/issues that have led you to seek therapy. I will be asking many questions to gather as much information about you as possible so that we are better able to address the important issues and get to the core problems and then begin the healing journey together.
