Great to meet you!

Congratulations on seeking therapy! Most people who seek therapy or counseling report that they experience an improvement in mood and anxiety. Unfortunately, many folks have to wait weeks to see a therapist. Timing is everything and I can generally see you within 48 hours. I believe I am easy to talk to and approachable. Therapists are excellent listeners and I will be honest with you, rather than just agreeing or dismissing your opinions. If you see me and we establish a plan, you will be able to determine how much you need and for how long. Since what we will be doing involves Telehealth, I ask that you cancel ahead of time if you cannot meet per schedule. I will do my best to accomodate your schedule.

As your therapist, I will:

Respect your privacy

Respect your schedule

Respect your opinions and values

Respect the severity and urgency of your

difficulties

Make myself available when you need

assistance

Help you find answers and solutions rather

than feeling “stuck"

My approach to therapy

I have been a therapist for about 45 years, so over the years my approach has become my own rather than a particular school of therapy. I find it helpful to promote a feeling of acceptance and comfort in looking for the origins of the issues presented, understanding how they are affecting things now, and develop skills and abilities to prevent those issues from interferring with quality of life

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we will get to know each other and answer any questions about my qualifications or what to expect. You can determine whether you see me as a good fit for your needs. In order to become familiar with you and your challenges, I will spend time learning about your challenges, as well as other aspects of your life that might play a role in them.
