Great to meet you!

Hello! I’m Jim, and I’d like to support you in building the life you imagine! Even if right now that feels far away. Life can be joyful and fulfilling, but it can also bring anxiety, depression, substance use struggles, grief, identity concerns, relationship conflict, and periods of feeling overwhelmed or stuck. You may be dealing with racing thoughts, low mood, loss of motivation, stress from major life transitions, or difficulty coping with painful emotions. During challenging times, having an empathetic, knowledgeable therapist can make a meaningful difference. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you gain clarity, build resilience, and take practical steps toward meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

I work with adults navigating substance use concerns, addiction recovery, anxiety disorders, depressive symptoms, LGBTQ+ identity exploration, grief, and end-of-life issues. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, grounded in respect, openness, and understanding your unique story. Whether you’re managing cravings, mood instability, stress, or identity-related challenges, we focus on strengthening coping skills and building emotional regulation. Therapy with me is a safe, supportive space where you can explore difficult topics honestly while working toward measurable, sustainable progress.

What you can expect from me

Therapy is tailored to your individual needs and goals, and treatment plans are developed collaboratively. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address negative thought patterns, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to improve emotional regulation, Motivational Interviewing to support behavior change and addiction recovery, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clarify values and build psychological flexibility. In the first session, we’ll explore what brings you to therapy, identify priorities, and begin creating a direction that feels supportive, empowering, and realistic.
