Great to meet you!

I have a background in special education with an emphasis on behavior, which led me to love working with people that are walking through struggles. I attended Baylor University and earned a Bachelor in Education. I also attended Tarleton State University for my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling. I enjoy working with children and adolescents and their families and women who struggle with life changes, anxiety, relationships, and ADHD.

My approach to therapy

I believe that all people have the ability to change, and sometimes it helps to have someone walk through things with you with a nonjudgemental, outside perspective. I believe in strengths-based counseling or building on the strengths each client brings to session. The cognitive behavioral model I use helps identify thinking challenges and patterns and the connection between feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. I also enjoy working with adolescents and children in academic struggles or with families as they navigate growing together.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we will do an intake where I will gather what you would like to gain out of counseling as well as some background information like family information, substance use, religious beliefs, work environment, and health information. Our first session will be about an hour.
