Great to meet you!

I completed my bachelor’s degree at Columbia College in Salt Lake City, Utah and later went on to pursue a Masters in Business Administration and a Masters in Clinical Counseling. I have been working in the counseling field since 2013 and I am licensed in the state of Utah and Washington. I have been working with active military, reservists and their families since 2018. My primary focus is working with the adult population on treatment related to life adjustments/stressors, relationship concerns, anxiety, grief and loss, and identity exploration.

My approach to therapy

My primary approach includes the core conditions of the Humanistic perspective with a specific interest in Acceptance Commitment Therapy. I find it meaningful to explore and learn to manage difficult thought patterns, emotions and to learn how to heal painful experiences. I can help an individual identify and clarify personal values and learn how to commit and take action over their life again in a way that aligns with the individual’s personal values and beliefs. My therapeutic approach will help a person feel more empowered, provide self-awareness and a cohesive sense of self. My therapeutic approach also incorporates aspects of a person-centered approach, Solution Focused Therapy, EMDR and Motivational Interviewing which relies on the power of collaboration. We will work together to outline and define the goals of treatment. We will explore problematic areas to provide solutions, coping strategies, and resiliency skills and what will ultimately work best for you to achieve your goals that you are striving to set. As we work together you will learn skills and tools to gain a better understanding of how to achieve the goals you want for yourself.

What you can expect from me

I am passionate about empowering my clients to live a more meaningful life by helping the individual work through their everyday life challenges and stressors. I find it meaningful to help a person on their journey by providing tools and education that enriches a person’s life that aligns with their values, provides self-awareness, brings peace, and joy to their life. I want my clients to build self-worth, compassion, nurture healthy relationships, establish boundaries, learn healthy communication and work through difficult emotions and embrace their own thought patterns. My therapeutic approach can help a person find acceptance of the challenges their human experience can bring through life circumstances that are out of a person’s control by helping an individual through their own process of taking action towards the goals they set for themself and what truly matters to them.
