Great to meet you!

If you have spent a lot of your life being told you are too much, too sensitive, too intense, we start from the opposite idea: there is nothing about you that needs fixing. What you need are tools for the size of what you feel, and a space where you never have to shrink yourself to be easier for someone else.

I am a Certified DBT therapist (C-DBT) with nine years of experience, and I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University. Most of my clients feel everything intensely, anxious, low, overwhelmed, quick to spiral, and they leave sessions with something concrete to try, not just things to talk about. I bring warmth, real-world practicality, and a sense of humor into the work.

My approach to therapy

As a Certified DBT therapist, I will teach you real, usable skills for big emotions: how to ride out a wave without it running you, how to steady the mood swings, how to say the hard thing without losing the relationship, and how to treat yourself with a little more kindness than you are used to. The work is collaborative and practical, and it is built around you, because you are the expert on your own life. If somewhere underneath it all you have come to believe you are too much, or never quite enough, we will look at where that started and begin to rewrite it, while you build the skills to handle what life is throwing at you right now.

What you can expect from me

However you arrive, that is where we will start. You do not need to have it figured out, said the right way, or cleaned up first. Early on I will ask you plenty of questions, not to assess you, but to understand who you are and not just why you are here. I keep the room relaxed and genuinely without judgment, with real humor and real warmth, so you can feel at ease being honest. You are also welcome to a free 15-minute video call before anything else, so you can get a feel for whether we fit with no pressure either way. You do you, that is genuinely the goal: more of you, with less of the weight you have been carrying.
