Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Jamie. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in early childhood and pediatric mental health for children ages 0–10. I feel deeply honored to walk alongside children and families during seasons that can feel confusing, overwhelming, or heavy.

I earned my Master’s in Social Work and hold a Certificate in Infant Mental Health. I also completed my DIR® Floortime certification through the Erikson Institute. My professional background includes community mental health, school-based work, and private practice, where I’ve supported children and families navigating anxiety, big emotions, behavioral challenges, ADHD, autism spectrum differences, trauma, attachment concerns, and life transitions such as divorce.

At the heart of my work is a deep respect for each child’s individuality. I believe children are not “bad” or “difficult” — they are communicating needs the best way they know how. My role is to help them feel understood, safe, and capable.

Parents often come to me feeling worried or unsure of what to do next. You are not alone. Seeking support for your child is a courageous step, and I am here to help you and your child move toward greater connection, confidence, and emotional well-being. 💛

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is relationship-based, child-centered, and grounded in development. I believe children grow and heal through connection, not correction. I meet each child at their developmental level and use play, curiosity, and collaboration to help them feel safe enough to explore big feelings and build new skills.

I integrate DIR® Floortime principles, play therapy, CBT, ACT-informed strategies, and parent coaching to support emotional regulation, flexibility, and confidence. I work closely with caregivers because meaningful change happens in everyday moments, not just in session. My goal is to help children feel understood and capable — and to help parents feel supported and empowered along the way.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming space where we begin getting to know one another. For parents, this is a time to share your concerns, your child’s strengths, and what has or hasn’t been working. I’ll ask questions about your child’s development, relationships, school experiences, and daily routines so I can understand the full picture — not just the challenges.

If your child is present, the first session is focused on helping them feel comfortable and safe. We may play, draw, or simply explore the space together. There is no pressure for them to “perform” or open up right away — building trust is our first priority.

You can also expect time to ask questions and talk about goals. By the end of the session, we’ll have a clearer sense of next steps and how we can move forward together in a way that feels supportive and manageable for your family.
