Great to meet you!

You may be carrying more than people realize. Anxiety can make it difficult to quiet your mind, depression can make even familiar things feel harder, and relationship or family challenges can leave you feeling caught between your own needs and the needs of others. I work with adults and seniors experiencing anxiety, bipolar disorder, family issues, relationship issues, and trauma, while also supporting concerns such as depression, LGBTQIA+ concerns, stress management, panic, identity, PTSD, and other experiences that may become intertwined with your emotional wellbeing. You may be navigating changes in your relationships, trying to better understand yourself, or working through experiences that continue to affect you in the present. Therapy can give you a space to step back from all of that, feel understood, and begin making sense of what you are experiencing. Together, we can build on your strengths, develop practical tools, and work toward greater stability, self-understanding, and confidence in your life.

My approach to therapy

Our work will make room for both what you are experiencing today and the relationships, experiences, identities, and patterns that have shaped you. We’ll explore how anxiety, bipolar disorder, family issues, relationship issues, and trauma may be affecting your emotional wellbeing while also making space for depression, stress, panic, identity concerns, or other challenges when they are connected to what brings you to therapy. I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you recognize patterns in thoughts and behaviors that contribute to distress, Behavioral Activation to reconnect you with activities and experiences that support a greater sense of engagement when depression is present, and EMDR to help process difficult or traumatic experiences so they have less power over your present. Motivational Interviewing can help you explore change without pressure, Solution Focused Brief Therapy can help identify strengths and practical steps forward, and Problem-Solving Therapy can help you approach challenges in a more manageable and intentional way. Our sessions will be collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your needs, with an emphasis on helping you understand yourself while also developing tools that you can use in everyday life.

What you can expect from me

You do not need to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. During our first few sessions, we will take time to understand what brought you in, what has been most difficult, and what you would like to feel different. Together, we will identify goals that feel meaningful and realistic and decide where it makes the most sense to begin. You can expect me to listen with warmth and curiosity, meet you without judgment, and create a space where you can be honest about what you are experiencing. Progress may look like feeling more in control of anxiety or panic, finding greater stability when navigating changes in mood, improving communication and relationships, processing traumatic experiences, reconnecting with yourself when depression feels heavy, or developing a stronger understanding of who you are and what you need. We will continue checking in on your goals and adjust our work as your needs evolve.
