I'm Jamie, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner passionate about providing integrated care for complex mental health challenges. My expertise includes autism spectrum disorders, OCD, personality disorders, PTSD and trauma, schizophrenia and psychosis disorders, substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, panic disorders, mood disorders, and bipolar conditions.

My practice recognizes that mental health conditions are interconnected in ways requiring specialized understanding. I'm skilled at seeing how autism intersects with trauma, how personality patterns develop alongside substance use, and how conditions like OCD and psychosis can complicate presentations. Whether you're seeking a diagnosis, managing multiple conditions, or looking for someone who understands complexity, I bring the expertise to see the bigger picture.

What you can expect is a therapeutic relationship built on respect and collaboration. I listen to your experiences, validate your struggles, and develop treatment approaches that feel achievable. I understand that seeking help for stigmatized conditions takes courage, especially if you've had negative experiences before.

My goal isn't to "fix" you—you're not broken. I'm here to help you understand your conditions, develop coping strategies, and build on your strengths. I stay current with evidence-based treatments while recognizing that healing happens within trusting relationships. Together, we'll work toward recovery and the fulfilling life you deserve.

My approach to therapy

Excellent mental health care is, in equal parts, rigorous science and compassionate artistry. The science means staying current with psychiatric research, applying evidence-based methods, and bringing clinical precision to every evaluation and medication decision. The artistry means forging genuine human connection, honoring your unique story, and tailoring treatment around your values and daily life.

I attend to the whole person, not simply the presenting concerns. This means authentic collaboration, where your lived experience and my clinical expertise work as complementary forces. It means comprehensive awareness, since emotional wellness is shaped by physical health, sleep, relationships, professional demands, and your environment—so we view the full picture rather than isolated struggles. And it means true cultural humility, staying mindful of my perspective while respecting your heritage, identity, and personal beliefs.

I am honest about what treatment entails. Transparency builds the trust that makes meaningful progress possible. Mental health challenges rarely resolve quickly, but with steady effort, purposeful support, and carefully chosen interventions, lasting improvement is within reach. I communicate openly about realistic expectations, medication responses, and the real commitment recovery requires. I value recognizing small wins and practicing genuine self-compassion through the harder stretches.

My central aim is to provide consistent, thoughtful guidance through both progress and real difficulty. I am here to help you build lasting resilience and move toward a life where mental health struggles neither define nor limit what is possible—while nurturing deeper self-understanding, growing confidence, and a lasting recognition of your own inherent worth.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment brings together clinical precision and heartfelt compassion. Drawing on careful, evidence-based evaluation and clinical expertise, I'll work to build a clear, honest picture of what you need and where you truly hope to go from here. From that very first meeting, I see you as a whole person, never a list of symptoms or a diagnosis to be processed. Together we'll explore your psychiatric history, the challenges you're facing now, your previous treatments, and the goals that matter most to you.

My approach rests on three core commitments. The first is genuine partnership: you bring irreplaceable insight from your own lived experience while I contribute clinical expertise, and both carry equal weight in our work. The second is comprehensive awareness: we look at your physical wellbeing, sleep, relationships, work pressures, and wider life circumstances, since emotional health can never be understood in isolation. The third is candid transparency, so that every decision we make is one you fully understand and feel genuinely comfortable with.

Mental health challenges rarely resolve overnight, yet with steady effort, compassionate guidance, and the right approach, meaningful and lasting progress is entirely achievable. I will speak openly about realistic expectations, how medications work, and the dedication that lasting recovery asks of us both. Healing seldom follows a straight line, and the harder stretches aren't failures; instead, they're a natural and expected part of any real, meaningful healing journey.

You will never be judged for setbacks, only supported with patience and real care. Together we'll weigh your options thoughtfully, so that you can make confident, well-informed decisions about your own care at every stage. You'll leave our first appointment with full clarity about your needs, a personalized care plan, and the reassurance of a devoted partner who is committed to your overall wellbeing.
