Great to meet you!

Jamie Vazquez is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist, clinical supervisor, and behavioral health leader with extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families impacted by trauma, mental health challenges, and complex life circumstances. Jamie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Michigan State University and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute. Jamie also completed the Infant Family Early Childhood Fellowship through UC Davis and holds an Infant-Family Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist Endorsement for children ages 0–5.

Throughout their career, Jamie has worked across community mental health, school-based behavioral health, family preservation, crisis intervention, private practice, and child and family-serving programs. Jamie’s clinical background includes trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Seeking Safety, family and couples counseling, parenting support, grief counseling, and treatment for anxiety, depression, disruptive behaviors, and other mental health concerns. Their work has consistently centered on strengthening relationships, supporting healthy development, and helping individuals and families navigate difficult experiences while building resilience. Jamie is particularly passionate about early childhood mental health, trauma-informed care, family engagement, youth development, and creating systems that ensure children, youth, and families receive meaningful and accessible support. Their professional approach combines clinical expertise with strong program leadership, collaboration, accountability, and a belief that every individual and family has the capacity to grow and thrive when provided with the right support and relationships.

My approach to therapy

I bring extensive clinical experience providing individual, family, couples, and parent-focused therapy across a wide range of ages and presenting concerns. My clinical approach is trauma-informed, relationship-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practices, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), MAP, and Seeking Safety. I have experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, stress, disruptive behaviors, ADHD, separation anxiety, family conflict, divorce, parenting challenges, and perinatal concerns. My clinical skills also include conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment and care plans, monitoring client progress through outcome measures, providing collateral and family therapy, and supporting clients and caregivers through crisis intervention. I particularly value building trusting therapeutic relationships, helping clients identify and build upon their strengths, and creating a safe environment where individuals and families can process difficult experiences, develop effective coping strategies, strengthen relationships, and work toward meaningful and sustainable change.

What you can expect from me

What Clients Can Expect From Me During the First Session

During our first session, clients can expect a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where they can begin to feel comfortable sharing their experiences at their own pace. My goal is to first understand what brings you to therapy, what you hope to accomplish, and what has been happening in your life that may be impacting your emotional well-being or relationships. We will spend time getting to know one another, discussing your concerns, strengths, and goals, and beginning to identify areas where therapy may be helpful. I will also explain my approach to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and work collaboratively with you to develop a plan that feels meaningful and appropriate for your needs. Most importantly, you can expect to be heard, respected, and supported without judgment. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I want you to feel that you have an active voice in determining what we work on and what progress looks like for you.
