Great to meet you!

Throughout my life, I have maintained a passion for celebrating life and supporting others, specifically women and families, to achieve their fullest potential. I have focused my professional pursuits on educating, empowering and advocating for people to live joy-filled lives. I provide therapeutic support and guidance for people in all stages of life and circumstances within a holistic approach to support a person's mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being; though my clinical experience and skills as well as childbirth/early parenting training offer a specialized focus to help mothers, partners and families during the prenatal stage, birth of their baby and early parenting experiences. I strive to help new parents struggling with postpartum and early parenting challenges. Yet, for every client I come alongside, within a supportive therapeutic context, my goal is to help anyone to identify and implement practical daily strategies and positive self-perceptions to thrive during momentary and long-term life.

The philosophy behind my therapeutic and coaching efforts is to blend evidence-based information, personalized coping methods with confidence and calm to help women, parents and families navigate life with as much peace and positivity as possible. I am active in the arts and in local and international social justice initiatives that promote life's integrity and value for all human beings.

My approach to therapy

Every session and interaction between the therapist and client can offer an opportunity for insight, growth and healing. I seek to ensure my therapeutic relationship with each client is one that respects the pace and goals of the client first and foremost. I listen and reflect what I am hearing to ensure proper communication and connection is occuring. At times, depending on the client's interests and goals, I prompt out of session homework to facilitate the practical application and ongoing insight of what we are exploring and seeking to resolve within the therapy session. I provide feedback, which can be useful to affirm progress and inspire someone towards desired/healthy change. I often utilize a developmental approach to understand how a person's life history has impacted one's current life stage and may impact future moments. This approach may include questions and mapping about one's upbringing, major life experiences and memories. If a client prefers, art and art making can be incorporated into the session and/or outside the session time to help further support personal reflection and growth..

What you can expect from me

For the initial session, I provide an opportunity for a person seeking therapeutic support to share their story, their questions and discover ways therapy can help them along their journey of healing and empowerment. Establishing goals for the best use of therapeutic support may take a few sessions to articulate. My hope is by the third session, we have identified goal(s) to begin to explore how to achieve the purpose of pursuing therapy one step/one session at a time.
