Great to meet you!

My name is Jamie O’Brien, I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who supports adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life transitions. My education, coupled with meaningful life experience helps me meet clients with empathy, perspective, and realism. My background includes work with those facing stress, loss, and change in their personal lives as well as work within the justice system. I strive to offer a calm, collaborative space where my clients feel safe, respected, and understood as they build insight and coping skills.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is client-centered and flexible. It is guided by what is most helpful for the individual rather than a one-size-fits-all model. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral and person-centered techniques; adapting my style based on the client’s needs, goals, and preferences. I value collaboration, openness, and honesty, and I aim to create a space where clients feel supported while also being gently challenged to grow

What you can expect from me

The first session is focused on getting to know one another and beginning to understand what has brought the client to therapy. We’ll talk about goals, concerns, and what the client hopes to gain from the process. Also exploring whether working together feels like a good fit for the client. I strive to create a calm, welcoming environment where clients feel comfortable, respected, and free to ask questions as we begin the work together.
