Great to meet you!

After an initial information-gathering period, you and I will work together to explore your immediate concerns, needs and goals. You can expect me to treat you with dignity and respect regardless of your presenting issues. It is my sincere hope that you will use our counseling sessions to your full advantage, that you will participate in the discovery phases of your treatment, and, most of all, that you will realize improvements in your daily life as a consequence of meeting with me or any other member of your healthcare team.

My approach to therapy

My counseling approach is motivational, person-centered, positive, and collaborative. I am an avid reader and utilize a variety of counseling theories, favoring CPT, CBT, RET, and solution focused interventions. I restrict my practice to therapy methods that are supported by research. I am not affiliated with any treatment centers and therefore am unable to provide counseling or treatment for individuals in active addiction.

What you can expect from me

Every session gives us opportunities to learn! My focus will be on helping you clarify your wants, needs, and goals. We may work to assist you in developing better coping strategies or treatment and recovery management plans. Sessions may include education in life skills training and/or conflict resolution skills development. Everything starts with a first session!
