Jana Pomeroy

I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner residing on the Big Island. I have been a family nurse practitioner for 8 years and received dual certification in the last year. I have experience working with adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. I received my master's from Loyola University in 2018, my doctorate in 2022, and my post-master's certification as a psychiatric nurse practitioner from Purdue Global in May of 2025. I specialize in treating mild to moderate psychiatric health conditions, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, and bipolar disorder.

My approach to care is collaborative and inviting. I enjoy educating patients about each treatment modality and engaging in joint decision-making. I believe patients should be in the driver's seat when making decisions that affect their health and quality of life.

During our first session, you can expect a non-judgmental, collaborative approach to your specific needs. I prefer to build an alliance with the client in the first session and learn what they hope to achieve. I believe that connection and compassion are the foundation of a therapeutic alliance. My initial appointment will include a psychiatric and physical health history. This will help determine if I am a good fit for your specific needs/goals.
