Dr. Jana Wheeler

I've been a nurse practitioner since 1999 and completed my psychiatric training in 2023, bringing decades of clinical experience to every session. I practice in Bluffton, South Carolina, where psychiatric care is genuinely hard to find, and I take that responsibility seriously. I see children, teens, adults, and older adults, and I offer both in-person visits and telehealth appointments throughout South Carolina. My patients know me as someone who listens carefully and gets things done. I pair medication management with close attention to the whole person, because good psychiatric care goes far beyond the prescription.

I meet people where they are. Before talking solutions, I take time to understand what is really driving your symptoms. My approach is direct and practical, but I also know that lasting change means looking at the bigger picture of your life, not just your diagnosis. You will always know where we stand and why.

In our first session, we will talk through what is bringing you in, your history, and your goals. I ask a lot of questions because understanding your full picture helps me to know how I can help you best. I always make sure my clients know that I am not making a plan for them, but with them.
