Great to meet you!

Hey! My name is Janay

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor

I graduated from Howard University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, where I refined my understanding of the complexities of human behavior. Subsequently, I pursued a Masters in Professional Counseling, deepening my knowledge and expertise in mental health and counseling.

I am a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., an org that underscores the importance of community involvement, sisterhood and scholarship.

My approach to therapy

I utilize a blend of therapeutic approaches tailored to your unique needs. I incorporate many modalities to help you identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviors.

For couples, I combine my modalities with Couples Counseling, fostering open communication and mutual understanding to strengthen relationships.

Attachment-Based Therapy helps explore how early relationships shape your current connections, providing insight into patterns of behavior and emotional bonds.

What you can expect from me

In your first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and creating a comfortable, safe space for you to share what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask questions to better understand your background, current challenges, and what you’re hoping to achieve in our work together. Together we’ll begin to outline a plan that feels right for you. My goal is to make sure you leave feeling heard, supported, and empowered to move forward with clarity and confidence.
